This website is all about photographs taken by me Arhamny, Arhamman or Arhamnyx – a freelance photographer besides working as a full time Civil and Structural Engineer for an engineering company based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Currently I spent working in the construction supersivion as consulting engineer for projects in Putrajaya including roads, buildings, irrigation, drainage, bridges and quality control for more than 10 years. Due to the uniqueness of the city, I put up a special website solely about Putrajaya.
Returning back from the US after completion my Civil Engineering degree at Washington University, St Louis, Missouri in 1986, I spent a lot of time building the nation on infrastructures and buildings. I took a lot of photos on construction from drainage to highways, buildings to monuments and streams to lakes. This website is to share my best selected photos taken during my jobs in Malaysia’s most prestigious city which was many years in planning, design and construction. In US, I took photos using Canon, Ricoh and Nikon in film. At that time there were no digital camera. Traveling most part of US continents from as far as Maine to down south of Florida, and to the west to Southern California until the town of Tijuana, Mexico. I also traveled to Canada from Ontario to Quebec. I took a lot of photos during the my traveling days in US, Canada and Mexico.
The photos in this website are mostly taken with Fuji and Canon DSLR and Pentax K-x DSLR. Some were taken in JPEG and some in RAW. Both Fuji and Canon have their own quality. I like Fuji because its color. Canon is not that bad, but I need to do some tweaks on color to make it looks better to eyes. Pentax has been very popular before digital age but not getting popularity when comes to digital era, but I have a feeling Pentax shall be able to catch up sooner or later. Pentax made a good progress by 2009 and 2010 after releasing its new model K-x and K-7. I was sceptical about Pentax initially, but later after I read a positive review in DPreview website, I made a decision to own K-x without hesitation. Some of latest photographs were taken using Pentax K-x. It has an awesome colors and dynamic range.
